Who we are
UMUSIRIMUH is the public platform of Nyaruka Co Haha Ltd, a company registered in Rwanda and based in Kigali, Rwanda. We run two services on this site: HAAHA Fresh Market (fruit, vegetables and beverages) and UMUSARE Driver Services (standard, protocol and escort drivers).
Nyaruka Co Haha Ltd is the data controller for the information described here. This policy is written to meet Rwanda's Law Nº 058/2021 relating to the protection of personal data and privacy.
There are no accounts on this site. You never create a password with us, and we never ask for payment card or bank details. Nothing is paid for online.
What we collect
We only collect what you type into an order or request form. We do not buy data about you, and we do not track you across other websites.

Please note: a pickup location, a destination and a time, together with your name, describe where you intend to be and when. We treat driver requests as sensitive for that reason. Only the staff who arrange your trip can see them, and we ask that you do not put anything in the notes field that you would not want a member of our team to read.
Why we collect it
We process this information to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and to perform that contract once it is agreed — in plain terms, to confirm your order or booking, carry it out, and keep a record of it. Your contact details are used to reach you about that specific order or request.
We do not send marketing messages, and we do not sell, rent or trade your information to anyone.
The WhatsApp handoff
This is the most important thing to understand about how our service works. Nothing on this site is confirmed automatically. When you submit an order or request, we save it and then open a WhatsApp message, pre-filled with a summary of what you submitted, addressed to our business number. You choose whether to send it.
That means the summary — your name, your phone number, and the order or trip details — passes through WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. Meta processes that message on its own servers, which are located outside Rwanda, under its own privacy terms. If you would rather not use WhatsApp, you can call us instead on +250 780 426 899 and give the same details by phone.
Other services we rely on
To display the site we load fonts and styling from third-party content networks — Google Fonts, jsDelivr and Bootstrap. When your browser fetches those files, those providers can see your IP address and basic browser information. They are used only to render the page; we do not use them to analyse or profile you.
We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any other tracking or profiling tool on this site.
Cookies and local storage
This website does not set any cookies on the pages you browse as a customer, and it does not use cookies for advertising or analytics.
HAAHA Fresh Market stores your shopping basket in your own browser using local storage, under the name haha_cart. It holds only the items and quantities you picked. It stays in your browser, is never transmitted to us until you submit an order, and is cleared once your order goes through. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
The separate administrator area uses a strictly necessary session cookie to keep staff signed in. That area is not accessible to customers.
How long we keep it
We keep order and driver-request records for 24 months from the date they are created, so that we can handle questions, complaints, refunds and our own accounting obligations. After that they are deleted or anonymised.
If you ask us to delete your details sooner, we will do so unless we are required to keep a record for legal or accounting reasons — in which case we will tell you what we are keeping and why.
Your rights
Under Rwandan data protection law you may ask us to:
- Show you the personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- Delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
- Restrict or object to how we use it
- Receive a copy of what you gave us, in a usable format
Ask us using any of the routes in the Contacting us section below. We will respond as quickly as we can, and within the period the law allows. We may ask you to confirm the phone number used for the order, so that we do not disclose someone else's details to the wrong person. Exercising these rights is free.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your request, you can complain to Rwanda's supervisory authority for data protection, the National Cyber Security Authority (NCSA).
How we protect it
Orders and requests are stored in a database that only authorised staff can reach, through a password-protected administrator area. Staff passwords are stored as one-way hashes, never as readable text, and inactive sessions are signed out automatically.
No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. If a breach ever affects your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
Children
This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we will remove them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. This version is dated 15 September 2026.
